Casona Mukul

Casona Mukul's 16 oceanfront villas, 23 canopy casitas, five-star restaurant and 6 private spa casitas, built to world-class standards, are tucked into 1,670 acres of untouched wilderness, flanking 4 miles of pristine white sand beach. Carefully sited to minimally impact their spectacular surroundings, the villas and casitas are being sustainably built using local materials and artisans.
In lieu of a large central spa with locker rooms, the Casona Mukul Spa will be a pod of six fully appointed private casitas designed to facilitate and enhance different treatment experiences. In The Secret Garden, Watsu will be performed amid willowy ferns and soft rainlike falling water. Guests can take sweat baths and saunas in the Moorish Hammam casita and a Vichy shower in the Rain Forest. Ancient healing practices, incorporating herbs grown on a nearby farm, will be offered in Mukul (Mayan for "secret"), light and color therapies in the Crystal Temple. The Healing Hut will bring together "the best-known therapies gathered from every corner of the world," says spa director Angel Stewart, with scrubs, oils and lotions made from locally sourced ingredients as well as Yon-Ka and Aromapothecary products. Guests will be able to book spa casitas for ร  la carte services or overnight stays.
"To my knowledge, there's no other spa like this," Stewart says. "It's very, very special." guacalitodelaisla.com
