Andaman And Nicobar Issued New Travel Guidelines for Visitors

South Andaman

Are you planning to travel to Andaman and Nicobar this winter season, if yes then you must be aware of the new Covid-19 guidelines issued by the A&N Administration. The officials on Thursday issued a new guideline for travellers as well as for inter-island travel.

According to the new guidelines, all asymptomatic children under the age of 12 are exempt from the RT-PCR test when travelling by sea/air to the A&N Islands.

People over the age of 12 who are not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated against COVID-19 and intend to travel from the mainland must undergo an RT-PCR test in the mainland 48 hours before embarking on their journey to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

They will be tested at the Point of Entry as well. All asymptomatic passengers travelling to inter-island sectors, regardless of vaccination status, are exempt from any type of COVID-19 testing.

All symptomatic passengers departing from the mainland or travelling to inter-island sectors, regardless of age or vaccination status, must undergo RT-PCR testing within 48 hours of departure.

The new guidelines were issued in response to a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
