Auchrannie Launch Charitable Trust

Auchrannie Resort on the Isle of Arran has announced the launch of the Auchrannie Charitable Trust which will support local charities and groups who work to improve the island’s environment and the wellbeing of our community.

The trust aims to raise and distribute tens of thousands of pounds annually through various fundraising activities and Auchrannie’s optional visitor gifting policy which will invite overnight guests at the resort to donate £1 per night to the trust.

Speaking about the launch Linda Johnston, co-founder and chair of Auchrannie and one the charity’s trustees, said, “Since its founding almost 35 years ago Auchrannie has always aimed to support the local community as much as possible. The launch of the charitable trust will further strengthen this commitment for many more years to come.”

Gordon Hay, Business Development Manager, Auchrannie Resort, added, “Auchrannie regularly supports fundraising activities both on the island and across Scotland. Over the last 10 years Auchrannie guests have helped contribute £250,000 to the Arran Trust and many more hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised through donations provided by Auchrannie to charities the length and breadth of the country.”

Applications for charitable grants will be invited from all interested parties who can demonstrate that funds can be used to positively impact the community they live in.

It is expected that the trust will support a diverse range of projects right across the island and beyond.
