Darius Namdar leaves The Twenty Two less than a year after opening
Darius Namdar has announced he has left his role as managing director of Mayfair hotel and members’ club The Twenty Two, less than one year after the property opened.
The Twenty Two opened its doors in April last year, but Namdar had been with the project since its beginnings three years ago.
Announcing his departure on LinkedIn, Namdar wrote: “A few weeks ago I left a business I put my all into for over 3 years. I took away a great deal in the process, strengthening my understanding of what it means to be a leader and a reminder of what it takes to be a new business in our sector …many of those I worked with will be friends for life and I’m grateful to all the stakeholders for the experience. Now looking forward to what lies ahead.”
The Twenty Two’s official LinkedIn page also announced the news, writing that Namdar was the company’s very first employee and had been “instrumental” in the set up of the hotel.
The post read: “From pre-opening and into current day, Darius Namdar always championed ‘enlightened hospitality’ within the team, instilling within us an authentic culture of service.
“The Company would sincerely like to thank Darius for his contribution to The Twenty-Two and for bringing his authentic leadership, expertise and exceptionally high standards to The Twenty-Two ensuring we are always at our ‘A-Game’.”
Namdar has not yet revealed the next step in his career – Boutique Hotelier has reached out for comment.
The Twenty Two is housed within a 42,500 square feet Edwardian manor house and features 31 bedrooms and suites, a mews house, an all-day neighbourhood restaurant and private members’ club.
Located on Grosvenor Square, The Twenty Two was established by entrepreneur Navid Mirtorabi. He collaborated with interior designer Natalia Miyar for her first ever hotel project and enlisted Namdar (formerly Mark’s Club and Chiltern Firehouse) as managing director.
