2023 development preview: Accor luxury brands

The portfolio is known for bespoke hospitality, renowned restaurants and bars and extensive wellness facilities, so what highlights can the industry expect in the next tranche of projects?

Asian introductions

Fairmont Ramla Serviced Residences, Riyadh

Early 2023 will see the delivery of Fairmont Ramla Serviced Residences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The eco-conscious luxury destination will feature 35 floors accommodating 249 luxurious residential units, each with private terraces. The hotel will be located near King Abdullah Financial District and Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center.

Raffles at Galaxy Macau

An addition to the Galaxy Macau luxury integrated resort, Raffles at Galaxy Macau will complete in mid-2023. Each of the 450 suites is designed as a luxurious modern palazzo, with Samsung The Frame Hospitality in every room and the brand’s Raffles Butlers providing discreet bespoke service.

Sofitel Shanghai North Bund

French art de vivre will feature at the 25-storey landmark hotel in this major Chinese city, featuring 300 guestrooms and suites. Due to open in late 2023, the site will feature a rooftop bar, a Sofitel Spa and a modern Sofitel Fitness gym. Modern French style will infuse the hotel experience here, typified by the onsite Club Millésime.

MontAzure Lakeside Phuket – MGallery

The first MGallery Residences in Thailand will open near Phuket’s Kamala Beach in late 2023. The boutique-style resort will comprise a private community of 236 studios and one-bedroom residences surrounded by gardens, lakes, and fountains. Wellness provision will include relaxation pavilion, a jogging track, yoga platform, fitness centre, clubhouse, nature trail, family-friendly pool area, as well as a restaurant and pool bar.

European debuts

Raffles London at The OWO

This new luxury hotel will be located at the historic Old War Office in Whitehall, London, UK, with a scheduled opening of spring 2023. The landmark building has undergone a transformation and will feature 120 guestrooms and suites, 85 private residences alongside nine restaurants and three bars. An exclusive Guerlain spa and member’s health club by movement and nutrition experts, Pillar, will offer private memberships for locals.

Domaine De La Reine Margot – MGallery

Opening as a hotel in the heart of the Jardin des Quiétudes, at the gates of Paris, France, in mid-2023,  the historic 17th century monument was originally the home of Queen Marguerite de Valois. Revived by designer Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the new Domaine De La Reine Margot – MGallery blends old-world splendour with contemporary chic. Available onsite will be a spa, a vegetable garden and an orchard.

Americas additions

Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo Panama

The first and only luxury hotel in Panama with an authentic French identity, will open in the historic city of Casco Viejo in early 2023. The property will be the sixth address in the Sofitel Legend brand portfolio. Directly built out into the water, the hotel will feature a mix of facilities and amenities, including 159 rooms and suites, five food and beverage venues, including a rooftop bar and lounge; an oceanfront pool; and approximately 9,880 sq ft of flexible indoor and outdoor function space.

Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences

The first Raffles hotel in North America will open its doors in mid 2023, in  Boston, USA. Located in the Back Bay neighbourhood, the luxurious hotel will feature a three-storey sky lobby that is the first of its kind in the city. The distinctive 35-storey building will offer a collection of 147 guestrooms and 146 residences, with pied-a-terre suites, one- to three-bedroom homes and penthouses.
