2023 development preview: Hilton EMEAA

With international travel set to boom even bigger next year, thanks to the removal of most covid travel restrictions, Hilton is preparing for the tourism surge in many regions. Here we will profile some hotel developments to watch on several continents.

Asian openings

Conrad Shenzhen, China

Located in the heart of the central business and financial district, Conrad Shenzhen will be designed by international firm Yabu Pushelberg with a theme of ‘A Story of a Dreamer’. When it opens in spring 2023, the hotel will feature 300 rooms and suites with garden city and bay views, international restaurants and over 1,500 sq m of meeting space, including an expansive grand ballroom.

Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang, Vietnam

Set in the Son Tra district, Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang will be located near Da Nang’s beach and within walking distance of downtown shops, bars, and restaurants. Amenities will include an infinity pool and the Garden Grille Restaurant & Bar, which will serve international cuisine. The hotel is scheduled to open in February 2023.

La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton, Vietnam

Set to open on the island of Phu Quoc in summer 2023, the 197-key La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton will represent Hilton’s first resort in the country. The resort will feature Mediterranean-inspired architecture and join an array of restaurants, bars, and entertainment facilities in the vicinity.

LXR Hotels & Resorts in Bali, Indonesia

Set to open as the first LXR-branded resort in southeast Asia in summer 2023, the 72 all-villa resort will join as the 10th property in the collection of independent luxury properties around the world, including the recently opened Roku Kyoto in Japan.

Middle Eastern and African openings

The Bo Vue Hotel Bodrum, Curio Collection by Hilton, Türkiye

Situated along the Aegean Coast, The Bo Vue Hotel Bodrum, Curio Collection by Hilton provides 1.2 km of private beach and 102 rooms when it opens in spring 2023. Dining options will include the property’s main restaurant, Bo Giorno, offering Mediterranean and Aegean cuisine, as well as the Turkish restaurant, Delmanzo, and the seafood restaurant, Bacalao. Wellness provision will include the 1,000 sq-m Spa Soul and indoor and outdoor pools.

Conrad Rabat Arzana, Morocco

Featuring 120 luxury rooms and suites, Hilton’s first luxury hotel in Morocco will offer four restaurants and bar lounges when it opens at the turn of the year. The hotel will also house Morocco’s largest Royal Suite at 623 sq m, the Conrad Spa and beauty salon as well as 1000+ sq m of event space that includes a grand ballroom, four meeting rooms and an outer terrace.

Hilton Skanes Monastir Beach Resort, Tunisia

Hilton Skanes Monastir Beach Resort will mark Hilton’s debut in Tunisia in summer 2023. In addition to 346 rooms and suites, leisure and relaxation facilities include seven food and beverage outlets, five outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a thalassotherapy spa and wellness centre, extensive fitness facilities, a tennis court and kids’ club. The resort will also host 1,100 sq m of meeting space including a ballroom and three meeting rooms, and is situated a short drive away from Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport.

Waldorf Astoria Cairo Heliopolis, Egypt

Waldorf Astoria Cairo Heliopolis will mark the luxury brand’s debut in Egypt in spring 2023, located in the Heliopolis neighbourhood. The hotel will boast a grand lobby with traditional elements such as the Waldorf Astoria Lobby Clock and the Peacock Alley. Featuring 252 rooms and suites, the site will be home to a variety of dining and entertainment outlets. The hotel will also house the signature Waldorf Astoria Spa, a pool surrounded by a landscaped garden, a fitness centre, nine meeting rooms, and ballrooms that can accommodate up to 2,000 guests.

Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton, Kenya

Nestled on the edge of the Karura Forest, and in close proximity to the Nairobi business district, Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton, once open in early 2023, will signal the entry of Hilton’s Curio Collection by Hilton brand into east Africa. The hotel will feature 102 rooms, in five individual, but interconnected blocks of varying sizes, themes, and designs.. The property will also feature dining venues including a rooftop bar and specialty restaurant with a seasonal concept. Kwetu Nairobi is home to 10 meeting rooms for corporate meetings and events. Wellness provision will include an outdoor heated swimming pool, fully equipped fitness centre, and a spa.

European openings

Hampton by Hilton Budapest City Centre, Hungary

Hungary will welcome its first Hampton by Hilton hotel in the heart of the capital, Budapest, opening next summer. Boasting 219 guestrooms, the site will be designed under Hampton by Hilton’s new prototype. The hotel exterior will nestle in the street’s local architecture while its interior will feature refreshed public spaces and updated guestrooms, as well as fully equipped fitness facilities available to guests 24/7.

Hampton by Hilton London Old Street, United Kingdom

Set in the heart of one of London’s most eclectic and vibrant commercial hubs, the new-build 107-room hotel will offer Italian cuisine in the restaurant and a 24/7 snack menu in the lobby bar. With a planned opening in summer 2023, the hotel will feature flexible public areas, a conference meeting room, and a state-of-the-art gym. It is being built with environmental sustainability as a priority, including being designed to make use of harvested rainwater.

Hilton Heidelberg, Germany

In the heart of the historic old town, Hilton Heidelberg will be located on the River Neckar in southwest Germany when it opens in spring 2023. The onsite restaurant will offer classic German dishes, fusing the old world with the new. The 244-key property also has seven meeting rooms, a conference and events centre, a fitness centre, and an elegant ballroom for up to 300 people.

Legacy Hotel Cascais, Curio Collection by Hilton, Portugal

Cascais is the latest Portuguese destination in Curio Collection by Hilton’s expanding European portfolio. Opening next summer, Legacy Hotel Cascais, Curio Collection by Hilton will feature 59 guestrooms, a lobby bar, restaurant, swimming pool, spa, and fitness centre.

Sainte-Anne Hotel Dijon, Curio Collection by Hilton, France

Marking Hilton’s debut in the Burgundy region of France, Sainte-Anne Hotel Dijon in summer 2023, Curio Collection by Hilton will be set on the site of a former 17th century hospice. The upscale hotel will feature 125 rooms and suites with décor inspired by Burgundy’s vineyards, along with outdoor terraces, a swimming pool, fitness centre, and Nhoraé spa. The hotel’s fine dining French cuisine restaurant will be called La Table de Sainte-Anne, while its bar, L’Oratoire, is dedicated to tastings of the region’s wines.
