Ah, Las Vegas — the city of glitz and glamour. This might come as a surprise but Las Vegas is a great destination for a family vacation if you have teenagers. With plenty of activities to keep your teen entertained and learning, there’s no reason why you can’t have a fantastic family trip to Sin City. They’ve got a bit of everything including roller coasters, fun shows like Blue Man group, interactive exhibits at interesting museums, and great shopping. Let’s take a look at some of the things you can do with teenagers in Las Vegas. 

What to Do to Keep Teens Entertained on a Trip to Vegas!

This is not your typical Las Vegas list. we assume that you already know that you can visit the Hoover Dam, the botanical gardens inside the Bellagio, ride the Big Apple Coaster at New York New York, and that Circus Circus has rides and games. Instead we are bringing you lots of things to do with teens that are likely not highlighted anywhere else, but they should be because they are just as great.

 

 

Attractions & Museums 

Las Vegas isn’t all about gambling and entertainment — it also has several attractions and museums worth visiting if you want your teen to learn something while having fun. Take a trip back in time with a visit to the Mob Museum or explore the secrets of science at the Discovery Children’s Museum — both located downtown near Fremont Street Experience — or take a tour of Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park — it’s one of Nevada’s oldest sites — located near Charleston Boulevard and Main Street. Not interested in any of these just mention, don’t worry, there’s something for every taste from unique museums to luxury karaoke rooms to the scariest escape rooms you’ve ever encountered.

FlyOver in Las Vegas is the Strip’s premier flight ride attraction. Take your teens to see Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies. Featuring incredible footage captured in remote areas of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the film spotlights areas unreachable to most, providing a rare glimpse into the most isolated and untouched areas of the mountain range. Las Vegas visitors will explore Canada’s snow-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, picturesque valleys and dramatic vistas as they travel over Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks amongst other spectacular locales.

Meow WolfMeow Wolf

Meow Wolf has created an energetic showcase with a whole host of local artists. The Mega Art Zone is a graffitied spot that deepens the existing Omega Mart narrative while showcasing the talents of more than 40 local Las Vegas artists. Meow Wolf founders and artists traveled from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Las Vegas to work in collaboration with local artists. The creative team worked overnight and into the early morning hours over four consecutive nights while AREA15 was closed to create the new Mega Art Zone. The finished installation features two functioning vending machines filled with mini art available for the public to purchase, so everyone can take home a little piece of local art. 

ARCADE at HorseshoeARCADE at Horseshoe

Designed by Aria Group, the 7,000-square-foot arcade is illuminated by a glow of bright neon lights and offers a high-energy, multi-sensory experience for all ages and skill levels. The venue features more than 80 supersized games, including classics like Skee-Ball, air hockey, Rock the Rim and an epic claw machine, Big One Extreme. Additionally, players are transported into immersive adventures via virtual reality with games like “King Kong” and “Mission Impossible,” a four-player interactive gaming experience. King Tut Exhibition at Luxor Hotel & Casino

Teens will enjoy Discovering King Tut’s Tomb, a reimagined show about the monumental discovery of the celebrated Egyptian Boy King that will open 100 years after renowned Egyptologist Howard Carter first laid eyes on the preserved tomb. Discovering King Tut’s Tomb will recount the story of the discovery of the tomb through the lens and voice of Carter. The immersive display begins with a passageway to the burial chamber and unfolds with animations that illuminate the process of mummification and its significance to ancient Egyptian culture. Additional galleries trace the 100 years of King Tut and explore archeological practices today. Pods of virtual reality chairs enhance the visitor experience, allowing guests to take a deeper dive into the exploration of King Tut’s tomb.

Perception Digital Art Museum

Perception Las Vegas, is a newer museum with immersive and high-tech digital art installations. Leonardo: The Universal Man. Chronicling the life and works of Leonardo da Vinci, one of history’s greatest thinkers, the hour-long, three-part journey will transport guests into the mind of the Renaissance master. da Vinci changed the perception of humankind through his visionary ideas, science and art. Three distinct, 360-degree gallery exhibits will envelop guests in da Vinci’s works, studies and findings as an architect, engineer, alchemist, artist, philosopher and sculptor.

Escape IT

What to scare your teens badly? Take them to one of the newest escape room experiences, Escape IT. Inspired by one of the most horrifying film franchises of all time, “IT”. Located in the heart of Las Vegas and spanning more than 30,000 square feet, Escape IT is a revolutionary new take on the traditional escape room experiences, offering fans two multi-room escape adventures that bring to life “IT,” the highest grossing horror film of all time, and its blockbuster sequel “IT Chapter Two.”

This unparalleled attraction has more than 20 interactive rooms, state-of-the-art special FX, lighting, animatronics, and live actors create a fully immersive and terrifying experience. There’s no turning back as guests put their skills and critical thinking to the test, navigating some of the films’ most iconic locations including the infamous Neibolt House, the Losers’ Clubhouse, the Derry Canal Days Festival, and sewers below Derry, all while trying to escape the clutches of Pennywise, the Dancing Clown.

Escape Blair Witch brings Lionsgate’s classic horror film franchise The Blair Witch to life in its first ever official escape experience.

Neon Lights Night Tours 

Rail Explorers Las Vegas, the year-round, all-ages, outdoor-adventure attraction featuring pedal-powered rail bikes, offers guests a spectacular Neon Lights Night Tour, seven nights a week. This distinctly dazzling, novel and memorable experience takes guests on a pedal-powered, four-mile journey astride a colorfully illuminated rail bike. In addition, guests are encouraged to bring their best blacklight attire and glow sticks. Guests pedal the Rail Explorers rail bikes four miles downhill from the Nevada State Railroad Museum to the Railroad Pass picnic area, where they may relax in the signature red Adirondack chairs. Each experience concludes with a ride aboard a historic train back to the tour’s starting point. 

PanIQ Escape Room at Grand Canal ShoppesLas Vegas Escape Room

PanIQ Room offers guests a unique entertainment experience, featuring multiple next-generation escape rooms. Players are placed in a room and have 45 minutes to accomplish a mission as they search for clues, complete puzzles, crack codes, and take on other challenges. Las Vegas is home to some world-class shows featuring everything from sports events to musical performances. While many shows may be too mature for your teen, there are still plenty suitable for younger audiences. Check out Cirque du Soleil’s “Love” at The Mirage, which features Beatles songs; Blue Man Group at Luxor Hotel & Casino; by Cirque du Soleil at MGM Grand; Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay and “The Voice: Neon Dreams” at The LINQ Promenade – all great shows that will provide teens with an unforgettable experience.
